This week: A chance to voice your position

Dear supporter,

The integrity of our state's criminal justice system should matter to everyone. If it matters to you, you have a rare opportunity THIS Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1 PM to share your concerns with the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission (MSGC).

All are invited to this public hearing at the State Capitol. The topics being discussed are:

   1. Changes to the Calculation of the Custody Status Point.

 2. Modifications Related to Sex Trafficking
 3. Technical Modifications

The commission consists of 11 appointed members that establish public policy related to our state’s criminal sentencing practices (click here to read more about them.

If you are concerned with the direction crime and our criminal justice system have been heading in recent years, this is your chance. I urge you to consider attending the hearing or writing a letter telling the commission to take every opportunity to strengthen rather than weaken our sentencing policy.

Sincerely,

David Zimmer
